By now you must know that I enjoy having a well-stocked pantry.
We don’t live near the grocery store and it is inconvenient to have to run to the store for some forgotten item. By having a well-stocked pantry I am prepared for an emergency whether it be unexpected company or a job loss.
Right next to our pantry is another important closet, the game closet!
The pantry keeps us supplied with food and the game closet keeps us supplied with entertainment. When our children all come home they love to play games. As you can see we have a well stocked game closet!
We have puzzles that will keep you busy for hours or even days! I love having a puzzle going on a table where you can stop and work on it for a little while.
There are also many other types of games from card games to our all time favorite Guesstures! Guesstures is like charades but much faster. The timer is set and you have just seconds to act out your clues. It guarantees an evening full of laughter!
Scattergories is another family favorite when you don’t feel like being quite so active. You are given a letter and then you have to use that letter to answer all the clues. Imagine naming a sport, an ice cream flavor, and something in a pet shop all beginning with the letter B? You have to be unique as you don’t get any points if you have the same word as someone else!
Have you played The Settlers of Catan? Our sons introduced this game to the family several years ago and we’ve been playing it ever since. It’s a strategy game where players collect resources and use them to build roads and settlements. The board changes with each game, and you can buy add-on modules if you want to play with more than four players.
As you can see we have a wide assortment of games from Cranium, which is one of those games which has multiple activities. You work as teams and either act out a clue, draw a clue, answer a question, or answer some sort of word puzzle. There is something for everyone. Risk which is another favorite board game that can take hours to play.
No matter what type of game your family enjoys it is a excellent way to spend time together as a family enjoying each others company and just having a good time. I hope that during this busy holiday season you can take some time to relax and enjoy your family and play some games!
