Can I Ask A Favor?

Today I have something a little different for you! I am asking my faithful readers to answer ten questions for me in the form of a survey. I am always interested in what my readers have to say and I want to make my blog the best ever. Please take a few minutes to answer the following questions. I greatly appreciate it!IMG_8276

  1. Question # 2 I didn’t answer because ‘All of the Above’ wasn’t an option so for me I’m interested in all them subjects so wasn’t able to choose just one. :}
    I may not always post a comment but I do read what you have posted and I thank you.
    Enjoy your day and have a wonderful week

  2. I came back online a second time, and the whole survey was there for about three seconds. Then it all turned white and flipped right back to just the one question!… Guess it doesn’t like iPads….

  3. I wanted to answer ALL OF THE ABOVE for question #2. I enjoy every single post that you email me. I so appreciate your blog and the time and effort you put into your work. My wish is that you will share more about YOU, FAMILY, HOW YOU GOT STARTED HOMESTEADING, and any outside interests (crafts, selling products, etc.).
    But I seldom miss any of your posts — I try to scan my email and look for you first. However, I’m in the middle of planting, watering and weeding our new garden — the silly thing is huge — 109′ x 54′; 17-beds, beds are 44′ long. This is the first time I’ve ever set up a permanent garden (no-till) and using the rotation method. It’s exciting and fun, but boy-oh-boy, it takes me hours to hand water all the veggies. I also added lots and lots of flowers around the inside borders (all the way around the entire garden) to attract bees, ladybugs and butterflies. I’m also not use to such high temperatures — we’re hitting in the 100s here. I’m having fun with it though and will continue to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward (if my 69-year-old-body doesn’t give out on me!).
    Happy Day To You Nancy — Any bites on the house yet?

    1. Bobbie,
      You inspire me! Here we are trying to cut bak and I now only have eight raised beds plus blueberries, raspberries and rhubarb patches! Not to mention my numerous flower beds! Such a busy time of year with the weeding and planting and weeding. No bites on the house and that’s ok as June in Vermont is a beautiful month and we’re just enjoying it. I absolutely love my raised beds and using the no till method! The worms seems to love it too as my beds are full of worms. Love your comments on what to blog about. I’ll have to share how I got started! I credit it all to my mom!

      1. Worms………..I can’t wait to get started with worms. Next year, I hope to have two to three big tubs of worms. I am so excited about this. Worm castings are the greatest! And the worm tea is awesome. When I think how easy it is to feed and please the little worms and what they give back in return, it amazes me that I haven’t started already. New land, no outbuildings = no place to set up my little worm composting factory — but it will definitely be coming next season.

        Another thought about what to blog about: Do you save your own vegetable seeds? If so, how do you save them? Do you test them to make sure they are good seeds when you are ready to use them? I really want to get into saving my own seeds. From now on, I’ll only be purchasing heirloom seeds for the garden so I can save my own seeds.

      2. Bobbie,
        You are full of wonderful ideas! WE have raised worms in the past with great success. By all means start saving your seeds from heirloom plants, I took part in a six month long seed saving class where I learned so much! It is so important to preserve these heirloom seeds!
