Recently we completed one of our goals and took a road trip to North Carolina. While visiting friends in Chapel Hill we had the opportunity to check out the local Farmer’s Market early on a Saturday morning.
The Chapel Hill Farmer’s Market is wonderful. Full of all sorts of stalls selling everything from freshly made bread to beautiful bouquets of flowers. I’d never seen such fancy bread before!
It was fun to explore and look at all the vegetables that were already in season. At home it is time to harvest garlic now. At the Chapel Hill Farmer’s Market there were tables of garlic.
Carrots were already full grown. I’m still thinning out the carrots at home in Vermont.
Even the yellow squash and zucchini were ready to consume. The blueberries were being picked that week!
There were different varieties of potatoes to choose from.
The colors of the cherry tomatoes were vibrant. How could you possibly decide which color to buy?
Even lettuce was in abundance.
I was tempted to buy some tiny eggplants but knew they would never make it back to Vermont.
Exploring Farmer’s Markets is so much fun. I look forward to finding Farmer’s Markets on the west coast.
What a beautiful day! O went to school at UNC so Chapel Hill is really special to me!
